Arizona Child Health Insurance, Choices After Health Reform

If you have been looking for Arizona health insurance for children you have likely come to find out that there are not too many options available for you. Sorry to say, because of the health insurance reform, major medical companies, like: United Healthcare, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and others are not able to accept applications for Arizona child health insurance plans anymore. The only way to have access to these types of plans is to include a parent or legal guardian.

But what if that option is not accessible for you? What then? Is your child doomed to not have quality health coverage? The good news we have found a few options to help families in this situation. Below are a few Arizona child health insurance plans that are available for you:

1)The Assurant Health Access Plan:
This Arizona child health insurance plan supplies coverage for: doctor’s visits, prescription drugs, hospitalization, lab work, dental, accident protection, and coverage for critical illnesses. Also, this plan has a ZERO deductible for claims. This plan is an outstanding alternative to the standard major medical programs, providing outstanding coverage that will dramatically cut down your out of pocket expense in the event of a medical problem.

2)Short Term Plans:
This is an Arizona child health insurance plan that is only good for only 6 - 11 months. This plan does not include as many features like: doctor visits or prescription drugs, but provides catastrophic coverage. In other words, it is just a hospitalization plan. However, our office offers a variety of short term plans one of which provides a $50 copay for urgent care visits.

3)Supplemental Coverage:
If you want to supply additional coverage for your child you can add supplemental benefits, like: 24 hour accident plans, critical illness plans and value med plans for doctor visits. These policies are a bit more limited in nature only providing coverage for their specific niche. For example, the 24 hour accident plan will only supply coverage for accidents not illnesses. Yet, these plans are very affordable and provide some coverage if you are on a firm budget.

While it is regrettable that with the new health reform laws we are put in this position, the good news is we have solutions. All of the plans defined are underwritten by "A rated" insurance companies and utilize a national PPO network providing coverage nationwide.
